Last saturday, the app formerly known as Twitter was banned in Brazil. I was a heavy user since 2008 and although that place turned into shit, it was still a place where many bonds were created and maintained.

I already had accounts on Mastodon and BlueSky, but the thing is: a social network success is deeply related to users. I had a good time on Mastodon. It felt like a small community, which was great at the beginning, but started to feel too much like the small town I grew up: nice to visit, but there's nothing to do if you live there. BlueSky was even worse, since I could count on my fingers how many mutuals I had. So Twitter, bad as it is, felt like home.

It took a ban to make brazilians migrate to BlueSky, making it a place full of life, and then we realized that we all needed it. People around me feel that we are in a better place, away from the toxic algorithms that feeds on controversy, hate speech and constant fight. As we migrated together, BlueSky feels like a place where you can talk, share and bond. I hope it stays like this, but since the internet 2.0 became this hell we're living, I missed having a personal blog, a place for myself.

Let's see what happens.
